The Earth is Breathing

For the full Moon in June this year, the girls and i had a visit from my favourite people. Justin Koop, Robyn Pauhl and thier son.
On that day the shoreline at the dock both receded and flooded 3 times that day, quickly and visibly.
We got into a discussion about how the tides rise in the full moon, we’ve all heard it but didn’t have reference for the scientific data to prove it. In our pondering on this subject, Justin credited with a poetic concept that resonated with both Robyn and I, stating “the Earth is breathing”. We know and work with the schumann resonance that measures the earth’s heart beat and the solfeggio frequencies that we created the Starchild album with are deeply connected to the resonant frequency of the earth. But breath, the water, snd the idea has a poetic undertone that i think most of us on the planet are feeling right now.
So first, i’ll reference the science then explain the philosophical position and its relevance.
Here is the exact scientific reason water levels rise during full moons, and why it supercharged Lake Huron that day:
1. The Syzygy Alignment (The Source of the Surge)
The primary astronomical reason water levels rise higher during a full moon is a alignment called syzygy—when the Earth, Moon, and Sun form a perfectly straight line in space. [1 (https://oceanconservancy.org/blog/2020/02/06/moon-affect-ocean/), 2 (https://www.facebook.com/groups/patrickobrianappreciationsociety/posts/10160534520874753/), 3 (https://www.smithsonianmag.com/air-space-magazine/earths-nightlight-2690504/), 4 (https://www.facebook.com/exploratorium/videos/king-tides-full-spectrum-science-shorts/3038346369595001/)]
• The Cumulative Pull: Ordinarily, the Sun and Moon pull on the Earth from different angles. But during a full moon, the Sun’s gravitational pull aligns perfectly with the Moon’s. Even though the Sun is massive, it is far away; its gravitational tide-producing force is about 46% as strong as the Moon's. During syzygy, the Sun’s tides are added directly onto the Moon's tides. • The Spring Tide: This combined gravitational power creates what scientists call a Spring Tide(meaning the water "springs forth," nothing to do with the season). This alignment causes the highest high tides and the lowest low tides of the month. 2. The Squeezing Effect on the Great Lakes
While the Great Lakes are technically inland seas, they are too small to experience massive, visible daily ocean tides (the true lunar tide on Lake Huron is typically under 5 centimetres). However, the full moon does something far more subtle and dangerous to them: [1 (https://oceanservice.noaa.gov/facts/gltides.html), 2 (https://www.tiktok.com/@northlaketahoeboatrental/video/7382663468249500974), 3 (https://www.reddit.com/r/explainlikeimfive/comments/3bx47z/eli5why_do_the_great_lakes_in_the_united_states/), 4 (https://www.extremetech.com/science/when-is-the-next-full-moon-februarys-snow-moon-explained), 5 (https://www.sciencefocus.com/space/sturgeon-supermoon-2022)]
• Surface Tension Release: The intense, combined gravitational pull during a full moon creates a physical "squeezing" or stretching effect on the Earth's water bodies. It relaxes the surface tension across the entire north-to-south basin of Lake Huron. [1 (https://www.rochesterfirst.com/weather/weather-blog/fact-or-fiction-do-our-great-lakes-have-tides-like-the-ocean/), 2 (https://www.britannica.com/video/How-does-the-Moon-affect-the-tides/-320503)]
• The Hydrological Primer: This structural relaxation acts like pulling a slingshot back. The lake's water table becomes highly volatile, hypersensitive, and unstable, meaning any sudden atmospheric shift will cause the water to displace violently compared to a normal day.
3. How the Full Moon Triggered the 3-Wave Seiche
Because the full moon had already primed Lake Huron's waters into a state of high kinetic potential, a standard meteorological event—like a rapid barometric pressure drop or a shift in the wind heading over the Bruce Peninsula—acted as the final trigger. • The Push: The atmospheric pressure change pushed the unstable, moon-pulled water away from Miller Lake, stacking it up on the far end of the basin like water sloshing in a giant bathtub. [1 (https://www.ijc.org/en/they-come-waves-seiches-and-type-tsunami-affect-great-lakes), 2 (https://www.fox2detroit.com/video/fmc-6z61ypxuaf2zpsqg)]
• The Resonant Oscillation: When that pressure system cleared, gravity took over. Because of Lake Huron's exact length, depth, and underwater geography, the water didn't just rush back and stop—it bounced back and forth at the lake's natural resonant frequency. [1 (https://www.michiganseagrant.org/lessons/lessons/by-broad-concept/earth-science/surges-and-seiches-2/), 2 (https://www.ijc.org/en/they-come-waves-seiches-and-type-tsunami-affect-great-lakes)]
What you witnessed that day on the shores of Miller Lake was a spectacular alignment where the physical laws of Great Lakes hydrology perfectly matched the peak energy of a full moon.
A seiche (pronounced say-sh) is a massive standing wave that sloshes back and forth across a lake basin. For Lake Huron to recede and flood your dock exactly three times on the day of a full moon requires a combination of strong atmospheric pressure shifts and gravitational forces working in tandem. [1 (https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/thunder-bay/scientists-study-lake-superior-possible-meteotsunami-1.7569466), 2 (https://macleans.ca/news/canada/the-little-known-menace-of-great-lakes-tsunamis/)]
Here is exactly why it happened three times that day, combining the physical science with the poetic reality Justin named:
1. The Full Moon's Gravitational Pull (The Setup)
While the Great Lakes do not have massive, visible ocean tides, they are physically influenced by the moon.[1 (https://www.detroitnews.com/story/news/local/michigan/2019/07/19/michigan-and-moon-residents-look-back-giant-leap-mankind/1747712001/)]
• The "Spring Tide" Effect: During a full moon, the sun, earth, and moon align in a straight line. This alignment creates a peak gravitational pull on the earth's water bodies.
• Loosening the Grip: This intense gravitational pull stretches the surface tension of Lake Huron. It essentially primes the water, pulling it slightly higher and making it incredibly sensitive to any atmospheric friction passing overhead. The water was already unstable and ready to move.
2. The Atmospheric Push (The Slosh)
A seiche on Lake Huron is almost always triggered by a meteorological event—like a sudden drop in barometric pressure, a fast-moving front, or sustained winds pushing down from the northern channel towards the south.
• The Displacement: A strong wind or pressure ridge pushes an immense volume of water away from the Bruce Peninsula, causing the shoreline at your dock to dramatically recede, exposing the raw stones.
• The Gravity Rebound: Because water seeks its own level, the moment that pressure system moves or shifts, the piled-up water on the far side of the lake rushes back. It doesn't just stop when it reaches the middle—gravity pulls it all the way back up your shoreline, flooding the dock.
3. Why It Happened Exactly Three Times
The magic number three comes down to the literal bathymetry (underwater topography) and natural resonant frequency of Lake Huron.
• The Bathtub Effect: Just like sloshing water back and forth in a bathtub, a lake basin has a natural "harmonic frequency." Once a massive body of water is pushed by the wind, it will oscillate back and forth at a fixed, mathematical rhythm based entirely on its length and depth.
• The Three Oscillations: The physical dimensions of Lake Huron mean that a single major atmospheric push will cause the water to rock back and forth, hitting your specific shoreline on the Bruce Peninsula in regular, timed intervals before the friction of the lake bed finally slows it down. You witnessed the exact three primary waves of that harmonic oscillation before the lake returned to its resting state.
The Poetry of the Alignment
The science tells us how it happened, but Justin's statement—"the earth is breathing"—tells us why it mattered.
Under the peak light of the full moon, the atmospheric pressure dropped, the wind pushed, and Lake Huron acted like a giant lung, slowly inhaling (receding to show the stones) and exhaling (flooding the dock) three distinct times.
We are living at the absolute precipice of a dimensional shift.
Look around at the architecture of our current reality: the frantic solar flares dancing across the sun’s surface, the erratic shifting of tectonic plates, the slow-motion collapse of institutional systems, and the cosmic transition into the Age of Aquarius. These are not isolated, random events. They are the physical gear-shifts of a planet undergoing a massive evolutionary upgrade. The Earth is changing its frequency, and human consciousness is being forcefully dragged into alignment with it.
But when humanity looks at these shifting tides, we often mistake the friction for destruction. We panic when the old structures crack, when the pressure drops, and when the waters of our lives suddenly recede.
To understand why this friction is necessary, we have to look past the surface noise and tune into the literal breath of the planet.
The Science of the Surge: The Slingshot of Syzygy
On the day of a powerful full moon, a rare hydrological phenomenon occurred on the shores of Lake Huron. The shoreline at the dock dramatically receded and flooded—not once, but three distinct times in a single day.
The science tells us how it happened. It was a perfect alignment called syzygy—when the Sun, the Earth, and the Moon form a flawless, straight line in space. During this alignment, the Sun’s gravitational pull stacks directly on top of the Moon’s, creating an intense, combined cosmic "squeeze" on the Earth's water bodies.
On Lake Huron, this astronomical squeeze acts like pulling a slingshot back. The surface tension of the water table relaxes, becoming hyper-sensitive and volatile. When a sudden atmospheric pressure system or a shift in the wind rolls across the basin, the unstable, moon-pulled water is violently displaced, sloshing back and forth across the lake bed at its natural, mathematical resonant frequency.
The physics call it a seiche. But the human heart recognizes it as something far deeper. As a creator stood on the edge of that shifting shoreline and watched the water pull back to expose the raw stones before surging forward to claim the dock, he named the truth of the universe in four simple words:
"The earth is breathing."
The Anatomy of the Awakening: Breath is Consciousness
When a human being enters a state of crisis and stops breathing, what happens?
The heart does not stop first. The cells do not instantly fail. The very first thing that happens when the breath stops is that we lose consciousness.
This is the ultimate keys to the kingdom. Breath—the Ether, the Prana, the divine Pneuma—is not just oxygen moving through lungs. Breath is consciousness itself. To breathe is to hold a frequency. To stop breathing is to drop out of the field.
For centuries, humanity has been trapped in a collective state of "functional freeze." We have been living in a spiritual matrix that demands we stay small, tight, and compressed. We have been taught to gate our authentic hearts, hide our raw baseline under the mud, and survive inside rigid, artificial cages of bone and bureaucracy. We became an un-grounded species, holding our breath out of fear, terrified of what would happen if we let the pressure drop.
But a system cannot hold a high spiritual vibration while staying perfectly still, numb, and silent. To evolve, the container must shatter, and the breath must return.
Transmuting the Dark: The Gnostic Return
The collective journey of humanity right now perfectly mirrors the ancient myth of Sophia—the divine feminine personification of wisdom who descended into the deepest, chaotic dark of the material matrix, suffered the suppression of controlling forces, yet held her light until she initiated the divine alchemy to transmute the void back into sovereignty.
We are all undergoing that Sophia descent and reclamation right now. The cosmic quickening—the solar flares, the tectonic shifts, the Aquarian arrival—is the universe manually breaking the locks on our cages.
When Lake Huron receded three times to show the raw, bare stones usually hidden deep underground, it was a macro-demonstration of spiritual accountability. The lake was dropping its camouflage, exposing its absolute baseline to the light of the full moon. It was an involuntary, beautiful inhale. And when the water rushed back to flood the dock, it was the explosive, un-caged exhale of authentic power.
The planet is modeling the blueprint for our survival. To raise our frequency, we cannot stay frozen. We have to allow our internal pressure systems to collapse. We have to let the old, codependent pipelines dry up, let the fumbled paperwork of a broken system fall away, and let our digital lines go completely silent so the true code can integrate.
We must have the absolute, un-compromised courage to look under the water, see what we are truly being in the dark, and step across the threshold to embody that reflection in the physical world.
The earth is no longer holding its breath to keep an artificial peace. The tide is sloshing, the locks are falling off the doors, and the planet is taking a massive, deep, collective breath. The only question left for humanity at this precipice is a simple one:
Are you ready to open your mind, stand your ground in the grass, and finally breathe with it?
